JSON Minifier
Compress JSON payloads by stripping non-essential whitespace, reducing HTTP bandwidth and storage size.
What is the JSON Minifier?
Strip all non-essential whitespace, line breaks, indentation tabs, and spaces from JSON payloads. Compacting JSON prior to transmission across HTTP APIs or storage in document databases like MongoDB or PostgreSQL reduces transfer payload size, decreases network latency, and conserves cloud bandwidth.
How to Use This Tool
- Paste formatted or multi-line JSON into the input area.
- Click "Minify JSON".
- Review the original byte size, minified byte size, and total percentage saved.
- Copy the compact single-line JSON or download it as a .min.json file.

Formula & Technical Specifications
Compression savings percentage is calculated as: ((Original Bytes - Minified Bytes) / Original Bytes) * 100%. String literal values containing spaces are safely preserved.
Limitations, Edge Cases & Best Practices
Minifying removes human-readable formatting. If you later need to inspect the data, use our companion JSON Formatter to restore indentation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will minification change my data types or numerical precision?
No. Numbers, floating-point digits, booleans, null values, and string contents remain mathematically identical.
